چکیده

This article presents a model for handling multiresolution animation of complex deformable models. An octree-based animation method is described, along with the set of algorithmic tools, that allow for real-time interaction on complex objects. Some efficient collision detection scheme is also described for deformable objects. A method is presented for timeguaranteed mechanical simulation, that allows for automatic tuning of the octree definition to match some external performance constraints, such as adaptation to some pre-defined CPU consumption limitation.

Interaction of fluids with deformable solids

In this paper, we present a method for simulating the interaction of fluids with deformable solids. The method is designed for the use in interactive systems such as virtual surgery simulators where the real-time interplay of liquids and surrounding tissue is important. In computer graphics, a variety of techniques have been proposed to model liquids and deformable objects at interactive rates....

Corotated SPH for Deformable Solids

Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is a powerful technique for the animation of natural phenomena. While early SPH approaches in Computer Graphics have mainly been concerned with liquids or gases, recent research also focuses on the dynamics of deformable solids using SPH. In this paper, we present a novel corotational SPH formulation for deformable solids. The rigid body modes are extracted...

Real-time simulation of large elasto-plastic deformation with shape matching

Shape matching is a popular method for simulating deformable objects in real time as it is fast and stable at large time steps. Although shape matching can simulate large elastic deformation and ductile fracturing, until now, they are limited to scenarios with relatively small plastic deformation. In this work, we present a method for simulating deformable solids undergoing large plastic deform...

Real-time control of physically based simulations using gentle forces Citation

Recent advances have brought real-time physically based simulation within reach, but simulations are still difficult to control in real time. We present interactive simulations of passive systems such as deformable solids or fluids that are not only fast, but also directable: they follow given input trajectories while simultaneously reacting to user input and other unexpected disturbances. We a...

Realtime Two-Way Coupling of Meshless Fluids and Nonlinear FEM

In this paper, we present a novel method to couple Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and nonlinear FEM to animate the interaction of fluids and deformable solids in real time. To accurately model the coupling, we generate proxy particles over the boundary of deformable solids to facilitate the interaction with fluid particles, and develop an efficient method to distribute the coupling force...
